Harman Chaudhry is a second year orthopaedic resident at McMaster University. His clinical and research interests are in joint reconstruction and hip pathology in both young and elderly patients. In addition, he has a passion for evidence-based orthopaedics, the application of evidence-based research to clinical practice, and medical education. He has accumulated several peer-reviewed publications and book chapters at this early stage in his career. In July 2013, Harman will begin formalized research training through the RCPSC-approved Surgeon Scientist Program. Under the mentorship of Dr. Mohit Bhandari (Orthopaedics) and Dr. PJ Devereaux (Cardiology), his research will focus on the design and execution of a large prospective observational study aiming to identify factors which lead to high mortality following hip fracture. Harman enjoys spending free time with family and friends, and strives to live a physically active lifestyle.
