Mac-CARE arranges high quality educational opportunities with the same learning objectives as those in Hamilton, in community and rural areas. Arrangements for CORE rotations (Family Medicine and Specialty) for four weeks or longer in Niagara (St. Catharines, Niagara Falls, Welland) Kitchener-Waterloo, Guelph, Cambridge, Brantford and the surrounding areas are made through Mac-CARE.

Clerks and residents are encouraged to live in the communities they are learning in, and to that end, Mac-CARE arranges and pays for housing and for travel costs associated with one trip to Hamilton per week for required academic sessions. As videoconference capacity expands, these weekly trips to Hamilton may become unnecessary.
