The McMaster University Presidential Biosafety Committee is constituted to meet the requirements of granting agencies. The Laboratory Biosafety Guidelines of the Medical Research Council of Canada (2004) provide the bare documents

Through the review of biological research, the Committee oversees appropriate containment levels and safe handling practices. The Biosafety Committee meetings are held monthly on the last Monday of every month at 10:00 a.m.

Pro tem approval for grant applications is available at anytime through the Safety Office, ext. 24956; Copies of the MRC Biosafety Guidelines and assistance with biocontainment are available in 3N1C or contact Karin Cassidy.
