Having practiced as a pharmacist for over 20 years in Africa and North America, Eustace Orleans-Lindsay has a unique perspective on how disease, political instability, and the lack of social support systems affect the health of individuals.
A graduate of the Global Health program, he believes his education has equipped him with further insight into the inner workings of global politics and its effect on populations around the world, along with valuable leadership skills.
Currently employed as a Managing Pharmacist at at Loblaw Companies Limited, Orleans-Lindsay has supervised over 2800 MedsCheck Reviews – one-on-one interviews between the pharmacist and patient to review the patient’s prescription and non-prescription medications. He has covered chronic disease conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, hyperlipidemia and lifestyle interventions including smoking cessation and weight management counselling.
Throughout his career, Orleans-Lindsay has worked in diverse settings, including working as a medical representative in West Africa and as a visiting scientist with the United States Pharmacopeia. He was voted the Loblaw Zone Pharmacist of the Year 2006 for the Hamilton-Niagara region, and in 2014, was recognized at the Regional Pharmacy Managers Roundtable for excellent contributions on living Loblaw’s shared values, “Care for Community”.
Orleans-Lindsay is the recipient of a 2015 Ontario Pharmacists Association Award – the Pfizer Bowl of Hygeia – which is presented to a pharmacist on the basis of outstanding service to the community.
