Resources for Teaching and Learning

The Faculty of Health Sciences at McMaster Unvierstiy is acknowledged as a world leader in health sciences education. A number of teaching and learning resources are available to the international community and may be obtained from the departments and programs concerned:

  • The Standardized Patient Program offers the Academic Resource CD-ROM (ARC) which is a unique professional development tool of interest to educational programs or institutions that promote self-directed learning and utilize the use of standardized patients.
  • Through the use of simulation, staff and students have an opportunity to develop, refine, and evaluate skills in a variety of situations that affect and impact their performance. The ARC offers an easy to use database that allows you to search for specific standardized patient scenarios and health care paper problems
  • In addition, the Standardized Patient Program team can create and design custom-made standardized simulations for your classroom, workshop, conference or staff training event and provide trained simulators.
