Educational Computing Labs
The Educational Computing Lab serves the Faculty of Health Sciences (FHS) faculty, staff and students. Located in the Computer Services Unit (CSU), on the second floor in room HSC-2D8, it provides computing and e-mail services. Priority for lab use is given to booked courses, tutorials, etc. The area is otherwise available for FHS students, who have been provided with an access card, for such general uses as word-processing, email and Web browsing. Access cards (HomeBase swipe cards) are assigned to students through their educational programme. |

The lab is available Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and a Computer Services Unit (CSU) staff consultant is available from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. to provide technical support to students and faculty.
- Check the Lab Schedule
- Send an email to educlab@mcmaster.ca to request a lab booking, specifying the date, time and course name, if applicable. A confirmation will be emailed.
- Students may drop in anytime when the Lab is open and no booked for courses, workshops & tutorials, etc.
- Arrangements can be made for faculty to use the Lab on weekends and evenings.
- There is no charge for use of the Lab for Faculty-based educational activities.
- For workshops and events that charge a registration fee, $100 per hour will be charged for use of the Lab.
- Standard software packages have been installed on the equipment. An hourly charge will be levied for installing specialized software or when technical assistance is required.
- Arrangements can be made for faculty to use the Lab on weekends and evenings.

| Clients take responsibility for any damage to the equipment. |
| All internet access must be logged. |
| Stationary supplies are not provided. |
| Consumption of food or drink in the Lab is prohibited. |
| Tampering with the system files is prohibited. |

| Network Access |
| All PCs have full access to the Internet via the McMaster University Proxy Server and clients will require a proxy server account to be able to access the Internet. |
