Clinical Behavioural Sciences Program (CBS)

The Clinical Behavioural Sciences Program is a part-time Graduate Diploma Program under the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioural Neurosciences at McMaster University.


The CBS program is designed to offer health care professionals (e.g., nurses, social workers, occupational therapists, physicians) an opportunity to enhance their mental health knowledge and clinical skills. This program is not designed to provide individuals with new credentials.


The courses were developed for adult learners and have an inter-professional small group approach.


To complete the Graduate Diploma, students are required to complete 4, 3-unit courses (12 units in total). Individuals who are interested in specific courses, but not the full diploma can apply as a Post-Degree Student.


The courses instructors are faculty members of the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioural Neurosciences and include experienced clinicians with expertise in providing advanced training to health care professionals looking to enhance their skills.
