The Bachelor of Health Sciences is truly an extraordinary program that offers each and every student a unique pathway for self-discovery and personal growth. The learning environment is unlike any others - with emphasis upon peer collaboration and problem-based learning. This innovative learning style truly helps me to develop as a critical thinker, and provides skills that extend beyond the classroom. As a transfer student, it never ceases to amaze me as to how supportive the BHSc Faculty and staff members all are. I am prosperous in both mind and body by having the opportunity to be part of this amazing family.

I'm happy I chose to take my undergraduate education in this truly one-of-a-kind program. Learning in such a tight-knit, supportive community allowed me to step outside of my comfort zone, explore different areas of interest, and broaden my full potential. Through this program I have learned more about myself than ever before, and I now have a greater appreciation towards critical thinking and inquiry-based method of learning.

BHSc has given me the opportunity to be the person I have always aspired to be because I am surrounded by such inspiring people. I know that I would not be where I am right now without the help of the great support network that the program has facilitated. After my time here, I can say I have learned not only to be a successful student, but a better person as well. Thank you.

My first year in BHSc has been exquisite. BHSc students are immersed in an academically rich environment which offers diverse learning opportunities. The program’s small size fosters a tight-knit community and sense of belonging. Despite differences in educational and cultural backgrounds, all BHSc students have two things in common – collaboration and happiness.

Starting university in such a unique program, I had no clue what to expect of BHSc. Even though my first term hasn't ended yet, I have already realized what a privilege it is to be a part of such an amazing program. Yes, our close-knit community makes this university experience one-of-a-kind. Yes, the course material is fascinating, a big departure from the mindless memorization of high school. Yes, the amount of extracurriculars available is endless, keeping my life rich with opportunity to try new things. But the most amazing thing about BHSc is simple. I am learning so much, and I love it. How to be a critical thinker, how to adapt new information into a more current body of knowledge, how to approach situations in different ways. Learning how to learn. It may sound corny, but it's the truth! This is only my first year, and I can already tell I'm in for a wild ride.

Goals seem far more reachable in a program where your peers, faculty and staff want to see you succeed just as much as you do.

What students are saying - ARCHIVE
This program is the best possible thing that could have happened in my undergraduate career. It has both provided the tools and facilitated the environment for successful learning. The Global Health Specialization has allowed me to pursue my interest in developing world issues, and each of my innovative (and sometimes crazy) learning initiatives has been met with support from faculty and staff. Thank you BHSc, for making my undergraduate experience much more than I could have ever hoped it would be!

When I chose to accept BHSc amongst all the other offers I received, I had no idea how much Health Sciences program would offer me with. This mind-blowing student-based learning approach that encourages formation of a tight community within students and faculty members helps you prepare for the reality outside of university setting and fosters the growth of your character. It's definitely a unique experience that is only offered by BHSc.

I feel fortunate to be a part of a program that has broken away from the current instructional education system and instead has moved towards a learning paradigm that encourages divergent thinking.

Being a BHSc student has been an adventure. The flexibility of the program, combined with the willingness of the staff to make every idea possible, has allowed me to explore many diverse fields of study. As well, I have been able to add non-academic components to my academic work, making my four years here very fulfilling. Being in the Global Health Specialization within this program has further opened up for me a world of opportunity and promise. At the end of this journey and looking back, I am grateful to have been able to be a part of such a wonderful program.

From day one the BHSc program has fostered the idea of life-long learning in me by providing countless opportunities to engage in cutting-edge scientific research. The various research project courses made available to students have permitted me to solidify my research interests in the field of brain tumour stem cell biology. These experiences have also assisted me in receiving constant support and guidance from experts in the field of stem cell biology. Consequently, the BHSc program provides its students with an environment that is conducive for producing Canada's next generation of leading researchers.
